About
Sebastian Wörner
I photograph people doing the things they would be doing anyway — dropping into a bowl at seven in the morning, waiting out a flat spell, sitting still for exactly as long as they can stand it. Mostly available light, mostly one lens, almost always too close.
I started with a borrowed film body and a skate crew that never stayed put, and that has quietly stayed the method: turn up early, stay long after the good moment looks like it has passed, and keep the frame simple enough that the person in it still reads as themselves.
The work sits somewhere between reportage and portraiture. Nobody gets posed for very long. If a shoot runs well it feels less like a production and more like a slow afternoon that happens to have a camera in it — which is usually when people forget to perform, and the frames start to be worth keeping.
Available for editorial, brand and portrait work across Europe, plus the occasional wedding for people who promise not to call it a wedding shoot.
